I’ve tracked down several properties that offer a good value for your weekend getaway, each with reasonable prices and/or a little something extra to make your stay memorable.


The American Guest House is a bed and breakfast charging rates from $100 to $219. A full breakfast is included each day, as well as complimentary beverages and snacks. Rooms have private baths and free high-speed Internet access. The property also has a lending library. St. Gregory Luxury Hotel & Suites has more than 150 guest rooms, each with a coffee maker, a refrigerator, and cable television. Rates start at $105 per night. Additional services include a complimentary daily newspaper and shoe shine. The hotel also has a fitness center and a restaurant on-site.The Embassy Suites Washington, D.C., offers all-suite accommodations starting at $162 per night for March weekends. Each guest receives a complimentary cooked-to-order breakfast and evening refreshments. The hotel has an indoor pool, a video arcade, and a fitness center. Suites have two televisions, a refrigerator, a microwave, and a coffee maker. The entire hotel is wired for high-speed Internet access.
