American has joined United in offering a new Hawaii sale. Prices start at $347 round-trip, and destinations include Oahu, Maui, Kauai, and the Big Island.

Other airlines beat American’s sale prices for every route I checked, including Aloha, ATA, Delta, Hawaiian, Northwest, and US Airways. Since American’s prices aren’t competitive, skip this sale and shop around before you book.

The deal

Travel is valid from January 29 through May 15.

American’s deal will likely expire on February 8, the same day United’s offer ends. Book tickets at least seven days in advance. Fares require a two-night stay, and the maximum stay is 60 days.
