Flights to Daytona Beach are on sale from US Airways. Fares start at $218 round-trip, and departures are available from Chicago, New York, Pittsburgh, and more.

US Airways offered the best prices for five of the six routes I checked, but only the New York fare was actually well-priced in this offer. US Airways’ everyday prices beat the sale fares for travel from Boston, Chicago, Philadelphia, and Pittsburgh. Continental beat US Airways’ Charlotte fare. Before booking, compare US Airways’ sale prices with its regular fares to ensure you get the best possible deal for your travels.

Fall Europe flights are on sale from Lufthansa. Destinations include Amsterdam, Munich, Istanbul, and Zagreb, and fares start at $580 round-trip.

It’s not a bad idea to begin pricing fall flights now, so this sale is worth a look, if only to get a benchmark for travel on your route and dates. Before booking, however, compare fares from other airlines to ensure you find the best deal for your itinerary.

The Newfoundland and Labrador coasts in Canada are some of the best spots for iceberg spotting. You can even see two to three storey icebergs in Iceberg Alley where icebergs make their way from Greenland to the Atlantic.

American has matched many of the fares included in AirTran’s recent offer. Fares start at $158 round-trip, and cities include Atlanta, Chicago, Miami, and Tampa.

Although American’s fares are competitive, this deal is facing a lot of competition. AirTran offered the same (or better) prices for every route I checked, and airlines including JetBlue, Midwest, Northwest, United, and US Airways also had similar deals. AirTran and US Airways beat American’s price for travel between Dallas and Tampa. This deal is worth considering, but you should still compare fares before you book.

Summer BusinessFirst flights to Europe are on sale from Continental. Fares start at $1,598 round-trip, and destinations include Brussels, London, Paris, and Rome.

With higher-than-usual economy-class Europe fares this summer, these annual discounted business-class fares seem like even better deals this year. For the best chance of locating these prices, be sure to check the “find lower fare +/- 3 days” box and the “search by price” button on the search box located on the homepage.

It literally looks as though the River Rhine in Germany is on fire during the spectacular firework displays over the next few months. The are parades of illuminated boats and fireworks and stalls selling food, wine and beer.

Domestic flights through early November are on sale from AirTran. Fares start at $49 one-way or $98 round-trip, and Atlanta, Orlando, and New Orleans are featured.

AirTran’s sale fares are among the best available for most of the routes I checked, but other carriers including American, Midwest, Northwest, United, and US Airways are offering similar prices. AirTran itself beat the sale fare for travel between New York and New Orleans, and US Airways beat AirTran’s price for the Dallas/Orlando route, so you should still compare fares before booking to ensure you get the best deal for your travels.

Through Thursday, Southwest is offering sale fares starting at $69 one-way or $138 round-trip. Cities include Chicago, Ft. Lauderdale, Las Vegas, and Orlando.

The best deals among the routes I checked were for travel on the Dallas/Harlingen and Islip/Ft. Lauderdale routes, but other airlines beat Southwest’s prices for the remaining cities. AirTran, Northwest, United, and US Airways topped Southwest for travel between Baltimore and Orlando, while Frontier and US Airways offered lower Los Angeles/Albuquerque fares. JetBlue beat Southwest’s Oakland/Las Vegas fare, Northwest had a better Providence/Chicago fare, and USA3000 offered a lower price for the Chicago/Ft. Myers route. Since other airlines’ prices were lower than the sale fares in many cases, you should be sure to shop around before you book.
