JetBlue has commenced service between Ft. Lauderdale and Santo Domingo, and is promoting the new route with fares starting at $99 one-way or $198 round-trip.

JetBlue’s sale prices were the best available for many of the dates I spot-checked. American beat JetBlue’s round-trip fare by $20 in one case, but JetBlue’s nonstop flight was a mere two-and-a-half hours, compared to American’s eight-hour one-stop itinerary. You can expect JetBlue’s fares to be among the cheapest for travel to Santo Domingo through May, but it’s still not a bad idea to do a quick fare-comparison before booking.

The deal

Travel is valid from March 6 through May 14.

Fares are available for travel on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays, and require up to a seven-day advance purchase.

Book by March 13, 11:59 PM MT.
