$39
Through Thursday, AirTran is offering sale fares starting at $39 one-way or $78 round-trip. Destinations include Los Angeles, New York, and Orlando.
AirTran’s sale is spotty. The best deals among those I checked were for the Atlanta/Los Angeles, Boston/Philadelphia, and New York/St. Louis routes, though Continental matched the Boston/Philadelphia fare. I found lower fares, however, for the other routes I checked. AirTran itself and US Airways offered lower prices for the Baltimore/Ft. Lauderdale route, while USA 3000 beat AirTran’s price for travel between Chicago and Orlando. Plus, Continental beat AirTran’s Dallas/New York fare.
You may find a competitive price in AirTran’s deal, but you’ll have to compare fares to be sure.
