Caribbean

Posted in Mexico by on the December 12th, 2007

Flights to the Caribbean and Mexico are on sale from USA3000. Fares start at $99 one-way or $198 round-trip, and destinations include Cancun, Punta Cana, and Montego Bay.

USA3000′s sale prices were the best available for each of the routes I checked. Though these fares are likely to be among the best you’ll find for your itinerary, you should still do a quick fare comparison before booking. To find the cheapest prices on its website, USA3000 suggests checking the “Flexible Traveler” box when entering your cities and travel dates.

Flights within the U.S. and to Mexico are on sale from Frontier. Fares start at $118 round-trip, and destinations include Denver, Chicago, Los Cabos, and Puerto Vallarta.

Frontier’s sale prices were the best available for every route I checked. It’s worth noting, however, that many of the major U.S. airlines—including American, Continental, Northwest, United, and US Airways—came within a dollar or so of Frontier’s fares, so it’s a good idea to compare prices before you book.

JetBlue

Posted in Mexico by on the November 13th, 2007

JetBlue has announced a new sale available for booking through Thursday. Fares start at $59 one-way, and destinations include Orlando, New York, San Diego, and Nassau.

The best deal among the routes I checked was for travel between New York and Charlotte. I found lower fares from JetBlue itself and from AirTran, American, Continental, United, and US Airways for the remaining routes. You might want to price flights on JetBlue, but be sure to compare fares before you book because other airlines may match or beat the sale fares.

Travel Flashcards

It's color-coded, it's illustrated and most importantly, it will help you get around China, Japan and France (Italy, Spain and Mexico by 2008). Unlike other phrase books, Lingolook is made up of 75 decks of cards complete with a 75+ key words, an illustration on each deck, and three related words/phrases totaling 450 translations. It also includes a 6-card reference section with travel tips, menu readers (very important!), time/date, numbers (helpful when you're trying to read Kanji) and a country map. The cool thing about Lingolook, is that it is not limited to the passport-sized, fannable deck of cards, it also has an E-version for PDAs and the iPhone, as well as a PDF version for use in any computer.

ATA is offering a new sale with fares starting at $69 one-way or $138 round-trip. Destinations include Chicago, New York, Honolulu, and Cancun.

ATA’s sale fares were the best available for nearly every route I checked. The only exception was for travel between Dallas and Guadalajara, where I found lower prices from both ATA itself and from Frontier. This sale will likely have some of the best prices around for most routes, but you should still compare fares before you book.
