Through Wednesday, AirTran is offering sale fares from $49 one-way or $98 round-trip. Cities include Atlanta, Miami, Orlando, San Juan, and more.

AirTran’s best deals among the routes I checked were for travel on the Atlanta/Miami, Baltimore/Burlington, and Dallas/Orlando routes, though American and US Airways matched the latter. Spirit beat AirTran’s Boston/Atlanta fare by a few dollars, and American, JetBlue, and Northwest also topped the Chicago/Boston fare. AirTran itself, along with American, Delta, JetBlue, United, and US Airways offered better prices for travel between New York and San Juan.
