JetBlue

Posted in Restaurants by on the March 24th, 2008

Many of JetBlue’s domestic routes are on sale with its new offer. Fares start at $49 one-way or $98 round-trip, and cities include Chicago, Las Vegas, New York, and San Diego.

JetBlue’s sale prices aren’t great. Its best deal (among the routes I checked) was for travel between Long Beach and Las Vegas, though US Airways offered a similar fare. United beat JetBlue’s prices for the Chicago/Boston, Oakland/New York, Boston/San Diego, and New York/Chicago routes, and Northwest also had better deals for the latter two. US Airways topped JetBlue for travel between Houston and New York. You can probably do better than this sale for your itinerary, so be sure to shop around before booking.

British Columbia in the west of Canada looks like a fantastic holiday destination. Sounds like there's a lot more to it in addition to Vancouver and great skiing.

It was only four months ago that Pure Management Group opened up Company Americcan Bistro at the Luxor. It was even feted with a star-studded party attended by celebrity investors such as Nick Lahey, Nicky Hilton and Wilmer Valerrama.

Members-only

Members of Spirit’s $9 Fare Club can take advantage of $18 sale fares this weekend. Destinations include Myrtle Beach, New York, and Freeport.

Though the $18 fares are available only on two routes, many of Spirit’s other fares are also competitive. Four of the six fares I compared were the best available. However, United beat Spirit’s Detroit/New York fare, and US Airways offered a lower price for travel between Los Angeles and Detroit.

Flights to Latin America are on sale from Spirit. Fares start at $158 round-trip, and destinations include Costa Rica, Colombia, Guatemala, and Panama.

Spirit’s sale is available through Monday, so you’ll have to act fast to take advantage of these prices. Even so, it’s still a good idea to shop around before you book.

Finding the best cruise deal

by mre770

Cruising has certainly become very popular over the last few years. There is plenty of choice whether you want to stay in Europe and enjoy the sun in the Med or the magnificent scenery of Scandinavia or the Scottish Islands. If you would like to venture further afield what about Mauritius to Cape Town or Auckland to Sydney? As every you'll need to shop around to ensure that you get the best deal which may be directly with the cruise line or through a cruise consolidator such as Cruise !stCruise Store and Cruise Line. It's useful to start your search on consolidator's site as you can see which cruise lines operate on which routes and compare prices. Once you've found the best price you can always try approaching the cruise line and ask if they can beat the consolidator's price. There has been some criticism recently about overcrowding of some popular cruise destinations. You may want to bear this in mind when selecting an itinerary. I've never been on a cruise, have you? Would you recommend cruising to me?

From the Kaapse Klopse to the Field of Dreams: SA Music Culture

Splashy Fen

Legend has it that two friends, Peter Ferraz and Bart Fokkens, were sitting around over a beer one evening in 1990, discussing the decline of the great music festivals of yore. Concluding that the moment had come to reverse this trend the two decided then and there to found a festival in the grand old tradition, and thus the Splashy Fen was born.

British Airways is offering 15 percent off economy-class and premium economy flights worldwide. The discount is available to registered users only.

The discount is a nice perk, and this offer is worth looking into in further detail. Compare British Airways’ fares (including the discount) with fares available on the same dates from other airlines to see if you’re getting a good deal.
