Southwest has announced a weekend sale with fares starting at $52 one-way or $104 round-trip. Cities include Denver, Las Vegas, Orlando, and San Diego.

Southwest usually offers some of the best prices available in its systemwide and weekend sales, but that isn’t the case here. Its best deals were for travel on the San Francisco/Las Vegas, Los Angeles/Tucson, and Manchester/Orlando routes, though the latter two were matched by United and US Airways. The remaining four fares I compared were beaten by airlines including American, Continental, Frontier, Midwest, Northwest, United, and US Airways, so you should shop around before you book.
