Shark

Although the name spells doom, beautiful Shark Bay in Langebaan got its name from it’s numerous and harmless sand-sharks, not the greater and whiter variety.

photo Despite it's tumultuous past, Vietnam is emerging as one of the fastest growing economies in the world. Apart from that, it is also home to two World Heritage sites (Halong Bay and Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park) and six World Biosphere Reserves. And just recently, Vietnam was named as the “Undiscovered Golf Destination of the Year” by the International Association of Golf Travel Operators. This accolade was voted upon by members of the International Golf Travel Writers Association. The criteria are as follows:

Winter may be a popular time to vacation to the Caribbean, but that hasn’t stopped Celebrity from offering great fares on island cruises. Prices for winter sailings start at $359 ($72 per night) for a five-night cruise and $729 ($73 per night) for a 10-night cruise.
The deal
When I checked, sample per-person prices for 2008 winter cruises included:

Flights to the Caribbean and Mexico are on sale from USA3000. Fares start at $99 one-way or $198 round-trip, and destinations include Cancun, Punta Cana, and Montego Bay.
USA3000′s sale prices were the best available for each of the routes I checked. Though these fares are likely to be among the best you’ll find for your itinerary, you should still do a quick fare comparison before booking. To find the cheapest prices on its website, USA3000 suggests checking the “Flexible Traveler” box when entering your cities and travel dates.

United is offering winter Hawaii sale fares starting at $420 round-trip. Destinations include Maui, Oahu, Kauai, and the Big Island.
United’s best deals were for the Chicago/Honolulu and Washington/Kahului routes. ATA topped United for the Phoenix/Honolulu fare, while US Airways had a better deal for travel between New York and Kona. Northwest had a lower fare for the Los Angeles/Lihue route, and United itself, American, and Northwest beat the sale price for travel between Boston and Kahului. You can probably do better than the sale fares in most cases, so shop around before you book.

Sunny destinations are on sale from Continental. Fares start at $112 round-trip, and destinations include Bermuda, the Bahamas, Los Angeles, and Orlando.
Continental’s best deal among the routes I checked was for the Newark/Bermuda route. Other airlines, including American, Midwest, Northwest, Taca, United, US Airways, and Continental itself, beat the sale prices for the remaining routes. Since Continental hasn’t listed travel dates, these fares could be competitive for your itinerary, but you’ll have to compare fares to be sure.

Delta is offering sale fares to and from New York’s LaGuardia airport. Fares start at $118 round-trip for travel through mid-February.
Delta’s Chicago and Ft. Myers fares were the best available, but other airlines came close to matching. I found lower prices from AirTran, American, Continental, Midwest, Northwest, United, and US Airways for the Atlanta route. Since there is a lot of competition for these itineraries, you should compare fares before you book to ensure you get a good deal.
