Caribbean
United is offering Caribbean and Mexico sale fares from $95 one-way or $190 round-trip. Destinations include Los Cabos, Montego Bay, and Nassau.
Other airlines, including American, Continental, Delta, Mexicana, Northwest, and US Airways, topped United’s sale prices for every route I checked. United’s Los Angeles/Aruba fare was beaten only by a few dollars, however. Compare prices before you book to ensure you get a good price for your itinerary.

Travel on domestic routes is on sale from Continental. Fares start at $112 round-trip, and cities include Houston, Newark, San Diego, and Las Vegas.
Continental’s best deal was for travel between Houston and Harlingen, but Continental itself and other airlines, including American, Frontier, Northwest, United, USA 3000, and US Airways, beat the sale prices for the remaining routes I checked over a wide date range. Since there is no stated end for this sale, you might consider pricing your specific dates, but be sure to shop around before you book.

Southwest has extended its recent December sale. Fares start at $49 one-way, and cities include Chicago, Orlando, Seattle, and Washington, D.C.
Southwest’s sale fares were the best available for every route I checked, but other low-fare and major airline came within a dollar or two of Southwest’s prices. This deal is competitive overall, but you should compare fares before booking to ensure you get the best deal.

Cathay Pacific’s Deal of the Month for December features flights to several cities in Asia. Fares start at $719 round-trip, and destinations include Bangkok, Beijing, Hong Kong, and Singapore.
I found lower prices for each of the routes I checked, from airlines including Air China, American, Continental, Philippine Airlines, and Northwest. You can probably do better than the sale prices, so be sure to shop around before you book.

photo Last November 14 was a historic moment for European rail travel. The St. Pancras International, the new home of the Eurostar was inaugurated and the High Speed 1 was launched. From the Waterloo International, Eurostar transferred to St. Pancras International due to far better connections, such as six Underground lines and better rail connections since there are seven rail companies that connects the traveler to the rest of the UK. With the launch of the High Speed 1, average journeys are now atleast 20 minutes faster than before. Traveling to Paris is guaranteed in 2 hours and 15 minutes (a record was set at 2 hours and 3 minutes) and to Brussels in less than 2 hours. Here is a YouTube clip of the High Speed 1, as it traveled to Paris in 2 hours and 3 minutes.

Air Canada is offering Europe and Asia sale fares from $509 round-trip. Destinations include Paris, Rome, and Beijing.
Northwest beat Air Canada’s sale prices for both of the Asia routes I checked. For the Europe routes, other airlines including Air France, Continental, Delta, KLM, Lufthansa, Northwest, and US Airways offered lower prices, and Air Canada itself topped its sale fare for the Denver/Rome route. Overall, these fares aren’t very competitive, so you could compare fares before booking.

Flights within the U.S. and to Mexico are on sale from Frontier. Fares start at $118 round-trip, and destinations include Denver, Chicago, Los Cabos, and Puerto Vallarta.
Frontier’s sale prices were the best available for every route I checked. It’s worth noting, however, that many of the major U.S. airlines—including American, Continental, Northwest, United, and US Airways—came within a dollar or so of Frontier’s fares, so it’s a good idea to compare prices before you book.
