About Cyprus
Cyprus is a magnificent island on the Mediterranean Sea that successfully combines glory of days past with modern culture from Europe. This exotic land is characterized by beautiful sun-kissed beaches, towering mountain peaks covered with lush forests, magnificent vineyards dotted with olive trees and historical ruins that bring back glimpses of the land’s glorious past. The charm of the land is further multiplied by the hospitality of its inhabitants.

Emerging in the early 90’s in Johannesburg, Kwaito is a distinctive musical genre spawned from township dance halls. It’s groove is like that of slowed down house music, with some hip hop elements and African-style chanting and rapping. The accompanying dance style is also a hybrid of South African “Pantsula” (best described as an African Charleston) and bump-and-grind hip hop.

Southwest has announced a new sale for travel during the so-called “dead weeks” between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Fares start at $54 one-way or $108 round-trip, and cities include Chicago, Las Vegas, and Washington, D.C.
This deal doesn’t include Southwest’s usual $29 or $39 short-haul flights, but the sale fares were the best available for four of the six medium- to long-haul routes I compared. The exceptions were the Baltimore/Portland and Providence/Orlando routes, where Northwest topped Southwest’s prices. This deal is worth considering, but ultimately, you should still compare fares before you book.

photo If you’re planning to go to Austria and Switzerland for the finals of the Euro 2008, sad to say, England didn’t make it this time. Thanks to Croatia, who shattered England’s hopes and ended up as Group E’s winners. Despite rallying on the 2nd half of their qualifying round, Croatia was just too strong for England. England’s agony was due to Mladen Petric’s goal in the 77th minute. The English team fought their way back from 2-0, after the 56th minute penalty shot from Frank Lampard and a goal by Peter Crouch. However, all efforts were in vain. Only Croatia and Russia from Group E will progress to the next round. from UEFA
