Flights to Mexico are on sale from American. The sale fares start at $136 round-trip, and cities include Guadalajara, Mexico City, and Puerto Vallarta.

American’s prices were the best available for five of the seven routes I checked. The exceptions were for travel between Chicago and Leon, where Continental, Delta, Northwest, and American itself offered lower fares, and for the Dallas/Guadalajara route, where American, Frontier, and Mexicana beat the sale prices.

New York City can be as expensive, or as cheap, as you like it. It came as no surprise that when I checked several providers to see what offerings are available for winter, I found quite a range of prices and hotel classes. Departures from Boston, Chicago, and Los Angeles were tested, and packages include airfare and two nights’ accommodations. Packages also include additional taxes and fees for airfare and accommodations.

Air Canada is offering Europe sale fares starting at $339 round-trip. Destinations include Paris, London, Rome, and Munich.

I found lower prices for the six routes I compared, from airlines including Air France, American, Continental, Delta, KLM, Lufthansa, Northwest, and US Airways. Since Air Canada is facing lots of competition, compare prices before booking to ensure you get a decent price for your route.

Through Tuesday, Aloha is offering Hawaii sale fares starting at $129 one-way or $258 round-trip. Destinations include Oahu, Maui, and the Big Island.

Aloha’s sale fares were the best available for four of the six routes I checked, but Hawaiian beat Aloha for travel between Sacramento or San Diego and Honolulu. Overall, Aloha has competitive prices, but you should still compare fares before booking.

With Royal Caribbean, you can find deals from $549 for sailings to the Caribbean, Hawaii, Europe, and other cruise destinations. Royal Caribbean’s “Hot Deals” sell out quickly, so it’s a good idea to book soon if you want to lock in these prices.
