Icelandair beat Virgin Atlantic’s fares for Boston, New York, and Washington, D.C., departures. US Airways also had a lower D.C. fare, and had better prices for Chicago and San Francisco departures. Air Canada beat Virgin Atlantic’s price for travel from Los Angeles. You’ll likely do better than this sale, so compare fares before you book.

American is offering Canada sale fares starting at $227 round-trip. Cities include Montreal, Toronto, and Vancouver.

The best deals among the routes I checked were the Los Angeles/Ottawa, New York/Vancouver, and Washington/Calgary routes. Delta topped American for both Halifax routes, Northwest had a lower Dallas/Montreal fare, and American itself and United both offered a lower price for travel between Green Bay and Toronto. American has several good deals, but you should still shop around before you book.
