Cutting the ribbon in San Francisco on Wednesday, Virgin America founder Sir Richard Branson then boarded the first Virgin America flight to Vegas with a bevy of celebrities and hand picked guests. During the short flight, Branson officiated over the wedding between Dimitrios and Coco Papadogonas in the front of the plane’s first class section. Aer Lingus is offering Ireland fall and winter sale fares starting at $338 round-trip. As an added bonus, Aer Lingus will waive its change fee for tickets booked by October 15.

American, Continental, and Delta beat Aer Lingus’ fares for every route I checked. US Airways also had lower fares for the Boston, San Francisco, and Washington, D.C., routes. If you think your travel dates might change, however, you may want to take advantage of this promotion. Aer Lingus’ change fee is normally $40 per flight segment, so you can potentially save $80 or more (depending on your itinerary) if your dates change. Note that the waiver does not apply to name changes or cancellations. The waiver applies to flights between January 15 and May 31, 2008. To change your flight, call 800-IRISH-AIR.

Go Card attraction passes for Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, Oahu, Orlando, San Diego, San Francisco, and Seattle give visitors pre-paid admission to dozens of attractions per destination at a discount. One-day cards start at $45 for adults and $29 for kids ages three to 12. Go Card is also selling a new Go USA card that covers attractions in all nine cities plus a “Powder Passport” that includes one to seven days of skiing at 16 participating ski resorts in the Northeast.

Flights to Hawaii are on sale from Aloha. Fares start at $119 one-way, and destinations include Maui, Oahu, and the Big Island.

Aloha had the best prices for each of the routes I checked, but they weren’t all listed in this offer. I found lower fares from the airline for the following routes: Oakland/Kona, Sacramento/Kahului, and San Diego/Kahului. You can expect Aloha to have competitive fares for your route, but be sure to compare its sale fares with its everyday prices before you book.

Fall and winter flights to London are on sale from United. Fares start at $360 round-trip for travel through mid-April.

When I checked, Icelandair topped United for the Boston, New York, and Washington, D.C., routes. US Airways also had a better Washington, D.C., fare, as well as lower prices for the Chicago and San Francisco routes. Air Canada beat United’s Los Angeles fare. Since United is facing a lot of competition, shop around before you book.
